The guys here are ..... very polite and endearing. Well, at least my male co-workers are. They do all sorts of things that, quite frankly growing up in a predominately Asian American west coast setting, you don't see often. They wait until you're seated with your food to start eating, open doors for you, motion for you to step into/out of the elevators first. A girl can get used to this.
But then again, you do have those exceptions that are not so considerate nor charming. But the're usually from some backward part of the country like LA.
I kid. I kid. LA guys have a charm all their own :)

Kids, gotta love 'em
Have you seen that commercial? You know, the one by Tyson's chicken that has the children dressed up as a bee, flower, ladybug and lastly, a tree on stage. Starting with the bee they succinctly identify themselves-- "Hi! I am a flower and I smell nice." But the ladybug goes off on her monologue about her scientific background so much so that it scares the tree that is waiting his turn and he runs off stage :) Am I the only one that finds this commercial hilarious?! Cracks me up every time...

Jesus Freaks and playas
This weekend during a break in the incessant rain, I was able to catch Cece Winans and Steven Curtis Chapman at the DC Festival. Imagine, praise time led by Steven and his band, with the backdrop of the Capitol literally before us surrounded by thousands of “Jesus Freaks” crying out to God…. It was so good to be there.
Right in front of me during the concert, stood an elderly couple. They were clapping along and enjoying the event with the rest of the crowd. And when Steven took the stage, the old gentleman started to bust out his moves and show the younger audience members how its really done :) When I reach his age, I can relish in the fact that although my dancing will no longer be found at the clubs or lounges- I’m sure I’ll find other opportunities to express myself~
In other news, just the other day, I met a cutie named Max. Oh, what a heartbreaker, he was. I was walking along minding my own business when our eyes locked and he flashed me the most charming smile. I looked behind me just to make sure I was the intended recipient, given I was inside Loehmann’s surrounded by a roomful of other women. Yup, he was looking at me, alright. The stare from his big brown eyes invited me over and had “Ask me my name and …. how old I am” written all over his face And so I did. I introduced myself and found out that Max is in the 2nd grade and he came shopping with his mother :)
Man, if he can get women introducing themselves to him now with one look, imagine the possibilities as he gets older…. a player in training, I tell you. He had my friend and me wrapped around his little finger just like that (*snap*)~ I wouldn’t be surprised if Max grew up to look like this guy…
